My Proper Home is a tool for buying, selling and tracking a UK property purchase. It's designed for adults — typically homebuyers, sellers, landlords and estate agents — but the app contains no objectionable material, so it is rated 4+ on the App Store and is suitable for any age.
Our age rating
- Apple App Store: 4+ (lowest available rating — no restricted content).
- Practical audience: 18+. Buying or selling property is a legal contract, and you must be a UK resident over 18 to complete one. We don't restrict who can view the app, but the workflows are written for adults handling their own move.
What the app contains
- Property listings (photos, prices, descriptions) sourced from the seller or estate agent.
- Tools for tracking the conveyancing chain — solicitor progress, mortgage status, completion dates, documents.
- Direct messaging between members of the same property chain (e.g. the buyer, seller, agent and solicitor on one purchase).
- Map and address search powered by Apple Maps and the UK Land Registry.
- A directory of vetted removals firms, professional services, surveyors, conveyancers and mortgage brokers.
What the app does NOT contain
- No gambling, betting or simulated gambling.
- No violence, gore or mature graphic content.
- No sexual content, nudity or romantic content.
- No alcohol, tobacco or drug content.
- No horror or fear-inducing themes.
- No public / stranger-to-stranger chat. Messaging is scoped to members of a specific property chain you've explicitly joined.
- No user-generated content visible to a public audience — photos uploaded to a listing are visible only to participants of that chain (and, for public listings, to people browsing that specific listing).
- No third-party advertising or marketing trackers.
- No loot boxes, virtual currency or randomised purchases.
Privacy and parental guidance
Although the app is rated 4+, it is a real-world transactional tool that handles personal data (address history, identification documents for AML checks, financial details about a mortgage). A child should not be using My Proper Home to complete a property purchase. If a child has access to a parent's device, we recommend:
- Using the iOS device's Screen Time controls or App Lock features rather than relying on the app's content rating.
- Signing out of the My Proper Home account when not in use — biometric unlock can be enabled in Settings → App lockso re-entry requires Face ID / Touch ID.
- Reviewing our privacy policy for what personal data we collect and why.
